Uber is buying ezCater, the company behind a lot of America's office lunches, for $2.3 billion. What makes it interesting is that ezCater ran for seven years without raising a single round of funding, and it now handles around $2.5 billion a year in sandwiches and platters. ChatGPT is getting ads, although OpenAI says they won't appear in the answers, only in the wait. While a free user watches an image generate, a banner shows up underneath it, and if you pay for Plus or Pro you won't see any at all. The test starts in the US later this month, in front of 1.2 billion people a week.

For ten days in September, someone quietly looked people up in Denmark's national ID register, and got names, addresses and ID numbers for 8.8 million people. That's more people than actually live in Denmark, because the register keeps records of the dead as well. Nobody had to break in, either, because they simply used a private company's real login. Police are now investigating.

The headline is 890 megawatts of new nuclear output, squeezed out of eleven reactors that already exist, under a contract that runs for twenty years, with the first new power arriving in 2028. That's roughly one large reactor's worth of electricity, without building a new one.
